Domynyk Staynair leads the Experimental Squadron testing galleons with the new artillery and the new signal flags. | ||
Archbishop Erayk Dynnys arrives back in Charis, proceeds to complete investigations and at the end decides to write a report that there is no heresy. Based on reports by his new secretary, Father Symyn Shumakyr, Grand Inquisitor Zhaspahr Clyntahn convinces the Group of Four that Charis must be attacked and they launch the attack of the five navies. | ||
After Tarot and Dohlar, messengers from the Group of Four order Prince Hektor of Corisande to launch his attack on Charis and Queen Sharleyan of Chisholm to join it. Sharleyan and Baron Green Mountain cannot refuse, but they will send only the active galleys, not the reserve ones. The courier ship bringing the Group of Four's message to Emerald founds in the Chisholm sea. Learning of the Group of Four plan from Merlin, King Haarahld decides to send his whole fleet of galleons to intercept the Tarot and Dohlar fleets. | ||
The Dohlaran galleys leave Gorath with Earl Thirsk under Duke Malikai as commander. Merlin gives special armors to King Haarahld and Prince Cayleb. Thirty war galleons leave Charis under Prince Cayleb's command. Duke Malikai is forced by the weather to modify the Dohlaran Navy itinerary as asked by Earl Thirsk and goes to Armageddon Reef by way of the Judgement Strait. The navies of Corisande, Chisholm and Emerald coordinate in Eraystor Bay under the leadership of Duke Black Water. Admiral Lock Island ambushes ten Corisandian galleys. Earl Thirsk arrives in Dohlar, disgraced and beached. He writes reports about the lessons to be drawn from what happened, recommending the building of war galleons in place of galleys. | ||
Learning of the Battle of Darcos Sound, the Group of Four decide to rebuild a Navy of galleys in Harchong and Dohlar. | ||
Earl Gray Harbor is received by Queen Sharleyan in Cherayth, and conveys to her his king's proposal for the unification of Charis and Chisholm through their marriage. After a few days of consideration, the queen accepts. | ||
Tahdayo Mahntayl flees Hanth Town. Bishop Mylz Halcom leaves Hanth for Tellesberg, to organize opposition to Maikel Staynair and the Church of Charis. Hauwerd Breygart becomes the new Earl of Hanth. | ||

All her guards except Edwyrd Seahamper are killed before she is saved by Merlin. Merlin then brings Cayleb with a skimmer and they explain everything to Sharleyan and Seahamper, who thus become members of the Inner Circle. | ||
Prince Hektor sent a herald to Emperor Cayleb, but before the negotiations begin, he and his oldest son were murdered by Church agents; nearly everyone believes the murders were ordered by Cayleb. | ||

The Battle of the Markovian Sea is fought. Admiral Lock Island is killed, much to his Emperors dismay. |

Merlin and Owl test the Orbiting Kinetic Bombardment System's reaction to steam engines; there is none. | ||
Ehdwyrd Howsmyn starts building the first turbine in Delthak. | ||
After the defeat in the Battle of the Markovian Sea, the Group of Four increase revenues for military spending, and start research on the new Charisian shells. They sell assets, begin requiring a tithe from the Temple Lands, and raised the tithe elsewhere from twenty to twenty-five percent. | ||
Aivah Pahrsahn arrives in Siddar City and immediately assumes an important place in the city's social life. | ||
Captain Sahlavahn is promoted to commander of the Hairatha Mill and stops being a member of the Ordnance Board . | ||

She is saved from an attempt by Paitryk Hainree to kill her by her special robe and Merlin's intervetnion. She names Hauwyl Chermyn the new Grand Duke of Zebediah. | ||

Operation Rakurai, a series of suicide bombings planned by Zhaspahr Clyntahn and Wyllym Rayno, takes place in Charis, Emerald and Chisholm, killing hundreds of people, among them Earl Gray Harbor, Bishop Waignair, Prince Nahrmahn and Archbishop Pawal Braynair, and hurting seriously thousands, including Baron Green Mountain . | ||
